"The world is not what I think, but what I live through" (Merleau Ponty)

Research into organisation

New worlds, new practices, from ancient ideas

These are times when how we organize and lead are in question. What are organisations for? Should business organisations focus solely on making money for shareholders? What is the role of ethics in leading the modern corporation? Is the model of the business corporation a useful one for public institutions such as hospitals or schools? Asking such questions seems more vital than ever: finding answers needs new methods and frameworks of enquiry.

To address such questions, FGC has worked with philosopher Dominik Heil to draw on ideas from some of the most profound thinkers of the 20th Century, such as Martin Heidegger and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Our resulting strategy approaches enable organisations to create worthwhile and believeable futures for themselves, and to build the structures and processes that will produce and sustain this future.

“The Boston workshop was a wonderful program, very stimulating, well-presented and highly applicable. Dominik and Rob provided a new and profound way of thinking about organizations, a perspective that took us to a robust, generative framework for further insight. This has helped create new possibilities about purpose and leadership and the kind of world that exists and can exist in my own organization. I have already begun incorporating concepts from this program in my work. A rare learning experience that I can highly recommend for any senior executive”.
